Thank you for your email and for your comments on the UniKL Convocation scheduled for 16 & 17th August 2008.
Congratulations to you for being one of our graduates in the Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Hons.) in Mechatronics who will be receiving your degree at the coming Convocation Ceremony at Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC).
As you may know, UniKL introduced the Short Semester (Trimester) in May-July this year. The Senate Meeting was only held on the 17th July 2008 to approve the results of the Short Semester examinations and subsequently all the eligible students for graduating this August 2008. As some graduating students were also involved in the Short Semester examinations, the complete list of graduates including the proposed recipients of the President, Council, and Chancellor Awards could only be finalized in that Senate Meeting.
The invitation letters for all graduates were sent out beginning 18th July 2008. This is to ensure that all eligible students for graduating August 2008 would have the opportunity to attend the Convocation Ceremony this year. If you have not received your invitation letter, you should receive it in the next few days. This letter contains all the related information for the Convocation. Otherwise, please contact UniKL MFI (03-8926 2022) and/or UniKL Academic Division (03-2175 4000) for further information.
Even though the preliminary information on the 2008 Convocation was placed on the 12th May 2008, preparations for the Convocation had started much earlier, especially seeking the grace and consent of DYTM Tuanku Chancellor on the Convo dates and the booking of the venue for the Convocation in PICC. The Convocation Committee has had regular meetings since January 2008 to prepare for the upcoming Convocation Ceremony.
We thrust that you will have a good Convocation on the 16th August 2008 and will be proud to be one of the UniKL graduates and Alumni on that day.
